Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Back

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is the branch of physiotherapy that assesses and treats problems involving muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, bones, and the spine, when there is pain, reduced mobility, weakness, or loss of function.
As you might expect, it is the largest area within physiotherapy, as it focuses on very common conditions, namely:
- Back and neck pain
- Tendinitis and overuse injuries
- Sprains and ligament injuries
- Shoulder problems
- Osteoarthritis and joint stiffness
- Post-surgical recovery (e.g., ACL, prostheses)
- Sports injuries and return to training
